Menkumham Yasonna: Bangga Indonesia Toreh Sejarah di OKID
JURNALJATENG.ID, JAKARTA – Menteri Hukum dan HAM Yasonna H. Laoly menyampaikan rasa bangga atas terpilihnya Hasan Kleib sebagai Deputy Director General WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization atau Organisasi Kekayaan Intelektual Dunia). Inilah pertama kalinya salah satu putra terbaik Indonesia menduduki jabatan strategis di organisasi internasional tersebut.
“Membanggakan dan menjadi torehan sejarah RI, untuk pertama kalinya wakil Indonesia menduduki jabatan strategis tinggi di organisasi internasional,” kata Yasonna, di Jakarta, Kamis (3/12/2020).
Yasonna mengatakan, pencalonan Indonesia sebagai salah satu Deputy Director General WIPO sudah disepakati Kementerian Hukum dan HAM bersama Kementerian Luar Negeri, dan dia sampaikan saat menghadiri sidang tahunan WIPO pada 21 September 2020.
Menteri yang hobi bersepeda itu menegaskan bahwa keikutsertaan di WIPO adalah bukti besarnya perhatian Indonesia terkait hak kekayaan intelektual dan segala upaya perlindungannya. Terlebih saat ini Kemenkumham terus menguatkan sosialisasi dan perlindungan kekayaan intelektual yang dilakukan Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Intelektual (DJKI).
“Manfaatnya sangat besar bagi Indonesia, dan akan membuat kekayaan intelektual semakin dihargai” ujar menteri 67 tahun yang tengah menjalani periode keduanya sebagai Menkumham di masa pemerintahan Presiden Joko Widodo tersebut.
Politisi PDI Perjuangan itu melanjutkan, keberhasilan Indonesia menduduki jabatan tinggi dan strategis di WIPO juga sesuai dengan misi Presiden Joko Widodo untuk menempatkan putra/putri terbaik bangsa di organisasi internasional.
Keberhasilan Indonesia menduduki posisi Deputy Director General di WIPO, kata Yasonna, berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan inovasi dan kreativitas terkait kekayaan intelektual di dunia, termasuk di Indonesia. Hal ini sejalan dengan visi Indonesia Maju, dan akan mengharumkan nama Indonesia di kancah dunia.
“Pencalonan Indonesia sebagai deputi di WIPO ini terus kami kawal dan akhirnya tercapai berkat keaktifan, konsistensi, dan kelihaian diplomasi Indonesia,” ujar Yasonna.
Duta Besar Hasan Kleib adalah Wakil Tetap RI untuk PBB, WTO dan Organisasi Internasional lainnya di Jenewa. Pria kelahiran Jawa Barat itu terpilih menjadi Deputy Director General WIPO setelah melalui serangkaian proses seleksi, dan pemilihan yang dilaksanakan pada sesi Sidang Coordination Committee WIPO, 3 Desember 2020, di Jenewa, Swiss.
WIPO adalah organisasi internasional, salah satu badan khusus PBB, yang beranggotakan 193 negara, yang memiliki mandat untuk memimpin pengembangan sistem Kekayaan Intelektual yang adil dan efektif untuk mendorong inovasi dan kreativitas seluruh bangsa.
Indonesia merupakan salah satu dari empat negara yang dipercaya memegang pucuk kepemimpinan tertinggi di bawah Direktur Jenderal organisasi internasional ini. Keempat Deputy Director General tersebut berasal dari Amerika Serikat, Perancis, RRT, dan Indonesia.
Duta Besar Hasan Kleib akan menjabat sebagai Deputy Director General for Regional and National Development Sector, atau pembangunan nasional dan regional melalui Kekayaan Intelektual (KI). Posisi tersebut akan dijabat mulai tanggal 1 Januari 2021 dengan masa jabatan selama 6 (enam) tahun.
