Fase Uji Klinis Vaksin Covid-19 Dapat Dukungan Penuh Dari Kepala Negara
Jakarta, jurnaljateng.id, Presiden Joko Widodo sebagai Kepala Negara sangat mendukung fase uji klinis yang akan dilakukan terhadap vaksin untuk Covid-19 dan siap memberikan bantuan dukungan dan sarana yang diperlukan.
Hal tersebut disampaikan ketika menerima tim uji klinis vaksin Covid-19 dari Fakultas Kedokteran Unpad beserta pihak Bio Farma dan Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM). Pertemuan berlangsung di Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, pada Selasa, 21 Juli 2020.
“Kami baru saja selesai rapat bersama Bapak Presiden. Rapat ini kita fokuskan tadi mengenai vaksin yang selama ini mungkin masyarakat dan media sangat menunggu. Insyaallah ujungnya ada jalan,” ujar Menteri BUMN Erick Thohir yang dalam pertemuan tersebut mendampingi Presiden.
Kepala tim uji klinis dari FK Unpad, Prof. Kusnandi, mengatakan bahwa presiden sangat mendukung uji klinis vaksin sehingga membuat pihaknya sangat sangat optimis.
“Kita semua sudah ketemu dengan Pak Presiden. Beliau sangat mendukung uji klinis vaksin ini dan akan membantu apapun kebutuhannya sehingga kami sangat optimistis. Kami rencanakan uji klinis ini selesai bulan Januari,” ucapnya.
Sementara itu, Menteri Kesehatan Terawan Agus Putranto, yang juga hadir dalam pertemuan tersebut, mengatakan akan segera menyiapkan kebutuhan dari sisi penganggaran untuk mendukungnya.
Untuk diketahui, uji klinis vaksin Covid-19 tersebut saat ini sudah berada pada tahap ketiga dengan melibatkan 1.620 sukarelawan. Hasil uji klinis tersebut nantinya akan dibandingkan dengan hasil uji klinis yang sama di berbagai negara.
Kepala BPOM, Penny Kusumastuti Lukito, memastikan bahwa BPOM akan mempercepat pemberian izin edar apabila vaksin tersebut dinyatakan lolos uji klinis.
“Ini adalah tahap yang paling penting dan sudah tahap lanjut, artinya sudah hampir kita sampai pada menemukan dan memproduksi vaksin tersebut. Tentu saja Badan POM menjamin protokol dari uji klinis ini adalah valid,” tuturnya.
Lebih jauh, Kepala Negara juga menugaskan Bio Farma untuk memastikan kapasitas produksinya dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri selepas uji klinis dilakukan.
“Sesuai arahan Pak Presiden kami dari Bio Farma mendapat tugas untuk memastikan kapasitas produksi vaksin ini bisa dikelola dengan baik. Sampai saat ini kami sudah menyiapkan 100 juta dosis per tahun dan kita akan expand menuju 250 juta dosis per tahun,” ungkap Direktur Utama Bio Farma Honesti Basyir. (SETPRES/JJID)
