Vaksin Merah Putih Tunjukkan kemampuan dan kemandirian bangsa Indonesia.
JAKARTA, jurnaljateng.id, Tim Vaksin Merah Putih diterima Presiden Joko Widodo di Istana Kepresidenan Bogor, Jawa Barat, Rabu (9/9/2020).
Dalam kesempatan tersebut Kepala Negara meminta laporan perkembangan vaksin serta memberikan arahan agar tim tetap mengikuti prosedur dan bisa bekerja lebih cepat.
“Penemuan dan produksi vaksin Covid ini sangat penting untuk dapat segera menangani krisis kesehatan maupun krisis ekonomi. ” ujarnya.
Kepala Negara menaruh harapan besar bagi pengembangan vaksin Merah Putih tersebut. selain itu pengembangan vaksin Covid-19 di dalam negeri juga menunjukkan kemampuan dan kemandirian bangsa Indonesia.
“Kita mampu mandiri dengan vaksin yang kita kembangkan dan kita produksi sendiri,” kata Presiden.
Presiden telah menerbitkan Keputusan Presiden (Keppres) Nomor 18 Tahun 2020 tentang Tim Nasional Percepatan Pengembangan Vaksin Covid-19.
“Saya harapkan ini membantu sinergi dan konsolidasi semua unsur yang ada dalam mempercepat pengembangan vaksin,” tuturnya.
Presiden menunjuk Menteri Riset dan Teknologi/Kepala Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional sebagai Ketua Tim Pengembangan Vaksin Covid-19. Menteri Kesehatan dan Menteri BUMN akan bertindak masing-masing sebagai Wakil Ketua I dan II dengan anggotanya ialah Menteri Luar Negeri, Menteri Perindustrian, Menteri Perdagangan, Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, dan Kepala Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM).
Selepas pertemuan Menteri Riset dan Teknologi (Menristek), Bambang Brodjonegoro memberikan keterangan bahwa Lembaga Biologi Molekuler Eijkman telah memulai upaya pengembangan vaksin Merah Putih dengan menggunakan isolat virus yang beredar di Indonesia.
secara keseluruhan telah berproses mencapai 50 persen dengan target uji kepada hewan pada akhir tahun ini. Selanjutnya, sekitar awal tahun depan tim menargetkan agar bibit vaksin tersebut sudah dapat diserahkan kepada Bio Farma untuk dilakukan formulasi dan produksi dalam rangka uji klinis dari tahap satu hingga tiga.
“Setelah uji klinis selesai dan BPOM menyatakan bahwa vaksin ini aman untuk digunakan dan cocok untuk menjaga daya tahan tubuh terhadap Covid-19, maka akan dilakukan produksi dalam jumlah massal oleh PT Bio Farma juga.” imbuhnya.
Tim pengembangan vaksin Merah Putih nantinya juga akan mengajak beberapa perusahaan farmasi swasta untuk ikut memproduksi vaksin Covid-19.
“Karena itulah kami mengajak Bio Farma untuk melakukan ekspansi dan perusahaan-perusahaan swasta lain untuk ikut mendukung,” ucapnya.
Kepala Negara meminta tim untuk bekerja dengan cepat dan sesuai dengan prosedure yang berlaku karena vaksin itu harus aman.
“Yang paling penting mengikuti segala prosedur karena vaksin itu harus aman, tidak ada efek samping yang membahayakan,” imbuhnya mengakhiri keterangan.
