PULANG PISAU, jurnaljateng.id, Dalam kunjungan kerjanya, Presiden Joko Widodo meninjau lokasi pengembangan Food Estate 30.000 Hektar ke Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah, Kamis (8/10/2020) dan tetep menetapkan protokol kesehatan.
Kali ini Presiden meninjau Foof Estate yang berada di Desa Belantisiam, Kecamatan Pandihbatu, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Sebelumnya dalam hal yang sama presiden pernah meninjau pengembangan Food Estate di Kabupaten Kapuas di Provinsi yang sama.
“Hari ini saya kembali lagi ke Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah, khususnya sekarang ada di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau,” ujar Presiden dalam pernyataannya selepas peninjauan.
Lumbung pangan baru di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, pada tahun 2020 ini, ditargetkan agar dapat dikembangkan seluas 10.000 hektare lahan. Sementara untuk yang berada di Kabupaten Kapuas, 20.000 hektare lahan disiapkan untuk pengembangan hingga akhir tahun ini.
Di Belanti Siam, Pulang Pisau, Presiden yang tampak didampingi oleh di antaranya Menteri Pertanian Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Kepala Staf Kepresidenan Moeldoko, dan Wakil Gubernur Kalimantan Tengah Habib Ismail Bin Yahya menyaksikan pengolahan lahan rawa dengan menggunakan peralatan teknologi modern.
“Tadi misalnya pemupukan, kita memakai drone. Kemudian untuk membajak sawah memakai traktor apung, ini traktor khusus. Saya tanya satu hari bisa berapa hektare? Operator mengatakan bisa dua hektare. Ini kecepatan (yang diperlukan) karena yang akan kita kerjakan adalah sebuah hamparan yang sangat luas sehingga dibutuhkan mekanisasi dan alat-alat modern,” tuturnya.
Selain itu, beberapa teknologi yang diaplikasikan secara luas di kawasan lumbung pangan Belanti Siam di antaranya adalah teknologi pengelolaan air, perbaikan kualitas air dan pemanfaatan air di lahan pasang surut, hortikultura baik sayuran dan buah-buahan, maupun budidaya ikan serta perkebunan.
Presiden mengatakan bahwa lahan yang ada di Belanti Siam ini tidak hanya ditanami oleh padi, tapi juga dikombinasikan dengan jeruk, bawang merah, dan kelapa di sisi-sisi area sawah. Hal itu ditambah dengan budidaya ikan di setiap titik irigasi dengan air yang melimpah ruah di kawasan itu.
“Dengan cara-cara ini kita harapkan pendapatan petani akan naik. Tidak hanya dari padi, tetapi juga dari jeruk, bawang merah, kelapa, ikan, dan dari (ternak) itik,” imbuhnya.
Pemerintah mengupayakan model bisnis pertanian yang berkesinambungan. Tak hanya fokus pada urusan budidaya, tapi juga mengupayakan pemasaran dan penyerapan hasil pertanian yang diperoleh.
“Kombinasi-kombinasi model bisnis seperti ini yang akan kita coba lebih dahulu. Begitu nanti kita lihat sukses dan bagus, model bisnis ini akan kita tiru di tempat-tempat lain per seribu hektare lahan,” tandasnya.
