Adopsi 7 Ikon Luar Negeri, Walikota Madiun Face Off Kotanya
JURNALJATENG.ID, MADIUN – Kursi Walikota Madiun, sepeninggal Bambang Irianto yang terciduk KPK soal korupsi, dan diduduki Drs. Maidi sejak setahun lalu menjadi makin bergairah. Maidi yang sebelumnya menjabat Sekda setempat itu seakan tak sabar, ingin segera menumpahkan uneg unegnya untuk mempermolek Kota Madiun.
Pembangunan infrastruktur di areal jantung Kota Madiun diterjemahkan Maidi, mengimbas pada sektor ekonomi, edukasi, kesehatan dan keindahan. Ribuan kedip lampu bak kandilabra berjajar rapi, linear sepanjang jalan protokol.
Pejalan kaki saat menyusuri trotoar yang dilebarkan menjadi tiga meter, laksana bermandikan temaram kilau lampu kota. Lebih nyaman, lantaran di sepanjang jalan itu tak luang jengkal tanah yang tiada aneka warna bunga.
Di musim gugur bunga, tak pelak suasana musim gugur di luar negeri pun bak berpindah ke kota itu. Publik pun, utamanya anak anak muda, tak ingin kehilangan kesempatan, langsung ambil momentum dengan berpotret atau selfi ria.
Bangku bergaya Eropa tersedia diantara setiap trotoar atau sudut sudut lain. Gedung Balai Kota Madiun yang masih kuno, penambahan pajangan bilik telepon umum dan kotak pos berkelir orange, memantulkan suasana ke Eropaan.
Tak tertinggal, penataan juga dilengkapi dengan lapak dorong. Penjaja makanan ringan dan minuman tersedia, dengan aturan interval jarak yang manis.
“Namun gerobak penjual itu wajib didorong pulang jika sudah selesai. Dan tidak ada kotoran yang tersisa di arealnya. Pembangunannya menelan dana APBD lebih Rp. 9 milyar,” ungkap Suwarno, Kepala Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Tata Ruang Kota Madiun, kepada jurnalis Selasa (1/ 12).
Dilanjutkan Suwarno, konsep pembangunan tersebut seratus persen sebagai discretion Maidi, yang selain mantan Sekda juga pernah menjabat sebagai Kepala Dinas Pendidikan setempat itu.
Dalam me make up Kota Madiun, menurut Suwarno, Maidi mengadopsi tujuh ikon global negara Eropa, Asia dan Arab. Dari tujuh ikon negara asing itu, dua diantaranya sudah terealisir yakni bangunan Ka’bah (Arab Saudi) dan patung Marlion (patung kepala singa berbadan duyung/ Singapura).
Dua ikon tersebut berada di Jalan Pahlawan. “Yang Ka’bah sudah diresmikan. Sedangkan Marlion rencananya akan diresmikan pertengahan bulan ini,” jelas Suwarno.
Sementara lima ikon lain yang masih mengganjal pikiran Maidi karena belum terwujudkan, ungkap Suwarno, masing masing miniatur Menara Eiffel (Perancis), Menara Miring Pisa (Italy), Menara Jam Duduk (Swiss), windmill atau Kincir Angin (Belanda) serta Menara Zamzam (Arab Saudi).
Diperkirakan Suwarno, sebagian dari lima miniatur tersebut direncanakan segera direalisasikan tahun depan. Model pembangunannya sama dengan sebelumnya, menggandeng investor atau pihak BUMN seperti PT. INKA Madiun, melalui program corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Pemerintahan Maidi memang total. Seakan dia ingin menumpahkan semua obsesinya jika berkesempatan memimpin Kota Madiun. Dan pembangunan luar biasa itu, sekaligus mengkonfirmasi bahwa dia beda dengan walikota sebelumnya.
Lengan tangan Maidi yang terlanjur disingsikan, tak akan kembali diturunkan sebelum semua angan angannya tersampaikan.
Walikota asli Magetan, Jawa Timur, itu memiliki etos altruisme yang tinggi. Sikap kerjanya progresif revolusioner, yakni menginginkan perubahan mendasar untuk kehidupan lebih baik bagi seluruh warganya.
Meski belum tuntas, namun publik Madiun dan kota sejumlah kota lain sekitarnya seperti Ngawi, Magetan, Ponorogo dan Pacitan, terlanjur tumpah. Saban menjelang petang mereka tumpah memenuhi Pahlawan Street Center (PSC), untuk membuang waktu sambil menunggu sunset.
“Rasanya saya nggak perlu lagi ke luar negeri. Karena di areal sini tak jauh beda dengan situasi perkotaan di luar negeri,” ungkap Wahyudi, warga lokal, yang mengaku memang belum pernah ke luar negeri itu.
