Gudang PG Panigoro Madiun Terbakar
JURNALJATENG.ID, MADIUN – Kebakaran melanda Pabrik Gula (PG) Panigoro Madiun, Jawa Timur, yang berada di Kelurahan Banjarejo, Kecamatan Taman, Senin (5/7). Tak kurang 60 persen gudang berisi bahan mudah terbakar itu, tak terselamatkan dari amukan api.
Sejak pertama kali kepulan asap diketahui pengguna jalan, kobar api langsung menggila. Hal itu lantaran, gudang yang disewa pihak koperasi tersebut dijejali berbagai barang mudah terbakar, seperti sarang lebah dan kemasan kotak kayu.
Tak kurang dari dua jam petugas pemadam kebakaran Kota Madiun dengan tiga unit Damkar nya, baru berhasil menjinakkan sang jagoan merah itu. Kesulitan yang diakui petugas penjinak api, lantaran semua barang yang tersimpan dalam gudang peninggalan kolonial Belanda itu berkategori mudah tersulut api.
“Kesulitan kami dalam menjinakkan api, yakni barang barang yang ada dalam gudang itu mudah terbakar. Ada tumpukan kayu dan sarang lebah. Ini sudah dua jam api belum tuntas betul. Masih banyak arang yang membara,” tutur Joko Purwito, Kabid Damkar Kota Madiun, kepada jurnalis.
Sementara sejumlah sumber di lokasi kebakaran mengatakan, awalnya banyak pengguna jalan yang mengetahui adanya kepulan asap bersumber dari belakang gudang.
Sebelumnya, mereka menduga terdapat petugas yang sengaja membakar sampah. Namun lantaran kepulan asap disertai lidah api makin membesar, mereka langsung menuju lokasi untuk memastikannya.
“Iya, kami langsung laporan pihak Damkar karena gumpalan asap makin besar. Juga terlihat jilatan api. Ternyata kebakaran,” ujar warga pengguna jalan.
Dalam kebakaran itu, hampir semua sarang lebah dan kemasan kotak kayu tak bisa diselamatkan. Hanya sebagian kecil barang barang tersebut, yang bisa disingkirkan oleh warga dan pemilik barang.
Sementara Kapolsek Taman, Kompol Setyo Wiyono, belum bisa memastikan penyebab terjadinya kebakaran. Namun, berbagai pihak menduga kebakaran tersebut disebabkan terjadinya hubungan pendek arus listrik.
“Kami masih melakukan penyelidikan guna mengetahui secara pasti penyebab terjadinya kebakaran,” jelas Kompol Setyo Wiyono.
Tidak ada laporan timbulnya korban jiwa maupun terluka dalam insiden itu. Lantaran, saat kejadian gudang dalam kosong tidak ada penghuni kecuali barang barang tersebut.
