TNI Diperbatasan Papua, Bongkar Modus Baru Penyelundupan Senjata Api
JURNALJATENG.ID, JAYAPURA – Komandan Korem 172/PWY Brigjen TNI Izak Pangemanan memberikan apresiasi kepada Satuan tugas pengamanan perbatasan (Satgas Pamtas) negara RI – PNG dari Yonif Raider 100/PS yang berhasil menggagalkan penyelundupan sparepart senjata api dan beberapa butir amunisi.
“Saya berpikir bahwa ini motif baru dalam penyelundupan senjata api dengan cara dikirim terpisah. Atau ada senjata api yang rusak yang akan mereka perbaiki. Sehingga temuan bagian senjata api ini masih dalam proses penyelidikan untuk mencari tahu siapa pemasok bagian senpi tersebut,” ujar Danrem di Makorem , Jumat (12/3).
Untuk itu, Danrem yang juga sebagai Dankolakopsrem, dirinya meminta agar segenap prajurit tetap waspada.
Danrem juga mengatakan, bahwa TNI Angkatan Darat melalui satgas Pamtas RI-PNG akan terus memaksimalkan upaya pengamanan wilayah perbatasan dari berbagai upaya perlintasan maupun penyelundupan barang illegal.
Namun dengan cakupan wilayah yang cukup luas, Danrem mengakui bahwa belum semua wilayah perbatasan bisa diawasi dengan baik, untuk itu Brigjen TNI Izak Pangemanan meminta agar masyarakat bisa ikut ambil bagian dalam pengawasan perbatasan negara, sehingga kedepan, wilayah perbatasan bisa menjadi wilayah yang aman, dan terbebas dari berbagai aktivitas ilegal yang akan merugikan masyarakat itu sendiri.
