Veteran RI Ke-64 Batang, Regenerasi Agar Bisa Dirasakan Manfaatnya
JURNALJATENG.ID, BATANG – Legion Veteran Republik Indonesia (LVRI) merupakan wadah bagi Para Pejuang Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia (PKRI), Pembela Dwikora, Trikora, Seroja dan Veteran Perdamaian Dunia. Di Kabupaten Batang terdapat 32 anggota LVRI yang tersebar di 15 Kecamatan dengan berbagai perjuangan sejak perang kemerdekaan hingga sekarang.
Di usia yang ke- 64, LVRI perlu mempersiapkan regenerasi agar keberadaannya di masyarakat dapat dirasakan manfaatnya. “Saya senang dan bangga, apalagi nanti ada regenerasi. Betul mungkin 50 atau 100 tahun lagi, butuh generasi penerus dari kalangan TNI/Polri maupun Keluarga Besar Pepabri bahkan insan sipil yang pernah berjuang bagi nusa dan bangsa, layak menyandang predikat sebagai anggota LVRI,” kata Bupati Batang Wihaji, usai memperingati Hari Ulang Tahun LVRI ke-64, di Aula Kantor LVRI Kabupaten Batang, Rabu (6/1/2021).
Bupati mengatakan, para anggota LVRI sudah teruji dan terbukti, betapa besar pengorbanan jiwa raganya. Negara pun telah memberikan ruang istimewa bagi para veteran untuk mengambil peran penting, mengajak generasi muda meneladani segala perjuangan dan pengorbanan di masa perjuangan lalu.
“Para veteran merupakan sumber inspirasi bagi generasi muda, buktinya saat menyanyikan lagu Indonesia Raya pun masih diliputi semangat yang tinggi,” tegasnya.
Hal senada juga disampaikan Dandim 0736/Batang, Letkol Arh Yan Eka Putra, bahwa untuk memperkuat barisan LVRI perlu dilakukan penambahan jumlah anggota baik TNI/Polri maupun kalangan sipil yang pernah berperan penting dalam perjuangan bangsa ini, segera bergabung. Sehingga perannya semakin dirasakan masyarakat Kabupaten Batang.
Dandim mengharapkan, kegiatan peringatan ini jangan hanya dijadikan ajang bernostalgia saja, tapi jadikan pemicu untuk terus berjuang sesuai kemampuan dan bidang masing-masing. “Kami sebagai penerus selalu dengan tangan terbuka menerima arahan dari para anggota LVRI demi kemajuan bersama,” pintanya.
Sementara itu, Ketua LVRI Kabupaten Batang Peltu Purnawirawan Suhartono mengatakan, beberapa agenda tetap dilaksanakan dalam peringatan Hari Ulang Tahun LVRI ke-64 meski dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan.
“Sebelumnya pada hari Sabtu lalu anggota LVRI telah melaksanakan anjangsana sekaligus bakti sosial kepada 6 veteran dan janda veteran yang saat ini dalam kondisi sakit. Selain itu sebagai bentuk penghormatan para anggota veteran pagi tadi berziarah ke Taman Makam Pahlawan Kadilangu,” terang pria yang pernah bertugas sebagai Pasukan Perdamaian PBB di Kamboja.
Ia mengharapkan, kepada generasi muda tetap memiliki semangat jiwa nasionalisme yang tidak pernah padam karena sebagai penerus bangsa peran dan kiprahnya dibutuhkan untuk kemajuan bangsa dengan potensi masing-masing.
