KEK Kendal Jadi Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Terbaik Nomor Satu di Indonesia
JURNALJATENG.ID,KENDAL- Sekretaris Menteri Koordinator (Sesmenko) Bidang Perekonomian Susiwijono Moegiarso menyampaikan apresiasi kepada Bupati Kendal, Dico M Ganinduto atas capaian yang diraih oleh Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Kendal.
Lebih lanjut, Susiwijono mengatakan KEK Kendal menjadi yang terbaik diantara 20 KEK yang ada di Indonesia.
“Dari sisi capaian KEK Kendal yang paling bagus di antara 20 KEK nasional,” katanya dalam keterangan kepada awak media di Kendal, Kamis (17/8/2023).
Capaian tersebut papar Susiwijono tercermin dari jumlah pelaku usaha di KEK Kendal yang hingga saat ini sudah mencapai 90 perusahaan sejak diresmikan oleh Presiden Joko Widodo bersama dengan Perdana Menteri (PM) Singapura Lee Hsien Loong pada November 2016 lalu.
Tak hanya itu, bahkan dari 1000 hektare lahan yang ada di KEK Kendal, utilisasinya telah mencapai 90 persen.
“Ke depannya beberapa perusahaan masih akan ground breaking di KEK Kendal, sudah antri. KEK Kendal menurut kami nomor satu di Indonesia,” pungkasnya.
Sementara itu Bupati Kendal, Dico M Ganinduto mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Sesmenko yang telah berkunjung ke Kendal, dan sempat merayakan HUT ke-78 RI dengan mengikuti upacara di KEK Kendal, bersama seluruh Dewan KEK Nasional, dalam rangka persiapan kunjungan Menkoperekonomian RI bersama Menteri Perdagangan dan Industri Singapura ke KEK Kendal, untuk melaksanakan ground breaking.
“Kita patut bersyukur KEK Kendal menjadi yang terbaik di Indonesia,” ujar Bupati Dico.
Tapi menurutnya, KEK Kendal jangan berpuas diri dan harus terus berupaya untuk meningkatkan investasi.
“Dan tentunya kita selaku pemerintah, akan full support terhadap iklim investasi, bagaimana memberikan kemudahan berinvestasi, dan memastikan ekosistem investasi di Kabupaten Kendal semakin baik lagi,” ujarnya.
Selain itu, Dico juga mengakui bahwa selama dua tahun terakhir sudah banyak perubahan di KEK Kendal, mulai dari utility dan air bakunya yang sudah difasilitasi dari Kali Blorong, kemudian pipa distribusi gas juga sudah mulai dipasang yang diperkirakan akhir 2023 sudah tersambung.
Pada kesempatan tersebut Bupati Kendal juga menyebut, dalam waktu dekat pihaknya akan melakukan kunjungan ke negara China, untuk bertemu dengan sejumlah calon investor. Dirinya berharap, akan mendapatkan investasi yang nilainya cukup besar.
“Sampai saat ini, nilai investasi yang masuk ke KEK Kendal mencapai angka Rp 48 triliun dan menyerap hampir 30 ribu tenaga kerja, total yang terserap di Kawasan Industri Kendal. Dari angka tersebut, 90 persennya adalah masyarakat asli Kabupaten Kendal,” pungkas Dico.
Untuk diketahui, KEK Kendal merupakan perusahaan joint venture antara dua pengembangindustri terkemuka di Asia Tenggara, yakni PT Jababeka Tbk. (KIJA) dari Indonesia dan Naming Sembcorp Development Ltd asal Singapura.
Melalui peraturan Pemerintah (PP) No.85/2019 yang dikeluarkan pada 18 Desember 2019, Kawasan Industri Kendal. resmi ditetapkan menjadi Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) dan memiliki area pengembangan seluas 2.200 hektare.
