Selain varian delta, Covid-19 varian Kappa masuk golongan VoI (Variants of Interest) atau yang menjadi perhatian Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO).
Varian ini pun telah menyambangi DKI Jakarta. Gubernur DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan menyebut ada sebanyak 128 mutasi Covid-19 teridentifikasi di Jakarta.
Dikutip dari KBRN, Varian Kappa lebih mudah menyebar dan menginfeksi. Varian bisa menular hanya dengan berpapasan dengan orang yang positif.
Dampak varian dianggap menyerupai campak (measles).
Mengutip CDC, Kamis (1/7/2021), penyakit campak memiliki gejala khas berupa ruam di sekujur tubuh. Gejala ini pun disertai demam tinggi (bisa lebih dari 40 derajat Celcius), batuk, pilek, juga mata merah dan berair.
Melihat gejala Covid varian Kappa, ini cukup berbeda dengan varian Delta yang terlebih dahulu menyebar.
Menurut WebMD, para ilmuwan menemukan varian Delta menimbulkan gejala berupa, sakit perut, mual, muntah, hilang nafsu makan, nyeri sendi, bahkan dalam beberapa kasus pasien mengalami gangguan pendengaran dan gangrene (jaringan tubuh mati akibat kekurangan pasokan darah).
Patuhi Protokol kesehatan : Memakai Masker, Cuci Tangan, Hindari Kerumunan, Jaga jarak, Batasi Mobilitas.
